The objective of this practical work session is to help trainees understand the voltage response of a hydrogen fuel cell under current. Specifically, they will:

  • Understand the operation of a hydrogen fuel cell and the redox reactions that generate electricity.
  • Analyze the relationship between voltage and current, influenced by the internal resistance of the cell.
  • Establish a polarization curve to evaluate the performance of the cell and interpret its ohmic and kinetic regions.

These skills will prepare them to evaluate hydrogen fuel cells in real-world applications and contribute to clean energy technologies.
